For a description of the CADDY format see the CADDY format specification that is part of the distribution package. The CADDY Conformity Test knowledge base contains more than 100 known bugs and other exceptions. Hewlett-Packard developed the CADDY Conformity Test Software for the European Crop Protection Association. It should be used by everybody to check CD sets for CADDY compliance. *** System Requirements *** ---------------------------------------------------------------------- The minimum requirements to run the CADDY Conformity Test Software are: * Computer / Processor: an Intel compatible PC (Pentium processor recommended) * Main Memory: the minimum RAM recommended by the manufacturer of your operating system * Hard Disk: at least 10 MB free disk space (data and program files) on local hard disk or network drive * Display: VGA or higher resolution graphics adapter and matching monitor Note: screen resolution 480 x 640, screen size 14" * Peripherals: CD-ROM drive and printer * Mouse or other pointing device. * Microsoft 32-bit Windows operating system: Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 or Windows XP with the latest Microsoft patches installed * The CADDY TIFF Analyzer is only tested on Windows 2000 and Windows XP * Microsoft MDAC-Patch (including MS JET-Database Engine) installed (available on the Microsoft homepage) To view the online documentation you need: * Adobe Acrobat Reader version 4.0 or higher installed on your PC *** Installation *** ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Before installation is started all other running applications should be closed. Start the installation process using the standard conventions appropriate for your version of Windows. 1. Select Run from the Taskbar Start menu. 2. Type the full name of the installation file (for example, C:\Download\Setup.EXE). 3. Press the Enter key, and follow the prompts. 4. After the installation, restart Windows. Note: By default, the application is installed in a sub-directory of the windows program directory named "CADDY Conformity Test 2.0". You may change this default path during the installation process. NOTE: To install the software on a workstation running Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000, the user installing the product must have Administrator privileges for that workstation. NOTE: The installation of the Microsoft MDAC-Patch is a requirement. If this Patch needs to be installed on your system you can refer to the users guide for installation help. After installing the patch, the Conformity Test Software has to be reinstalled. If you have problems with the installation, check to see if your device drivers and *.DLL files are current. Updating drivers and *.DLL files to the latest versions has fixed all sorts of odd problems. If you can not resolve your installation problems, send an email to the support contact mentioned below. Version 2.0.23 released April 26, 2004 - CCC.IFC.TAB.ROW: Bug was removed: Test of dd_tab was changed for CADDY 1.1 dossiers: Content of column tab_name may now contain upper case characters for CADDY 1.1 dossiers. (e. g. "DD_COL" instead of "dd_col"). - CCC.IFH.VER.LNK: Bug was removed: The test is not applicable for CADDY 1.1 dossiers - Log file shows TOC/Report information for non-compliant page files For non compliant TIFF images the location within the dossier (TOC/Report and page number) is now written to the log file. - Additional error log file will be generated for non-compliant page files - CADDY TIFF Test DLL The Conformity Test Software now uses the CADDY TIFF Test DLL to check CADDY TIFF conformity. - CADDY TIFF Analyzer The new program CADDY TIFF Analyzer can be used to check TIFF images using the same DLL as the Conformity Test Software. Version 2.0.22 released November 8, 2002 - Bug was removed: Error when testing CADDY 2.0 label files of confidential volumes.
